Bonkerz Comedy Club
Bonkerz Comedy Club
In 1984, Joe Sanfelippo along with his brother John and best friend George Maltezos were operating Papa Gaio nightclub in Milwaukee, WI, a two floor venue that combined a high energy dance format and live music. The trio accidentally stumbled on the idea of live comedy after booking a one-time comedy event for the club and realizing that it took about 8 hours a day less to produce than live music. Nothing could make a trio of fun loving 20-somethings happier than working 16 hours less a week! BONKERZ was the first comedy club in the state of Wisconsin and 26 years later, we still has a location in Milwaukee inside of Potawatomi casino. In 1987, BONKERZ moved its headquarters to its current location in Orlando, Fl and began its journey as a national comedy production company. BONKERZ first open mic night included then Orlando residents, Billy Gardell (of CBS’s Mike and Molly), Daryl Hammond, Larry the Cable Guy, and Carrot Top. Over the years BONKERZ has formed lasting relationships with many of today’s most famous comedians and has expanded to over 2 dozen locations nationwide including Las Vegas where Bonkerz currently produces the Louie Anderson show and theater. BONKERZ continues the tradition of seeking out and developing today’s hottest upcoming comedians in locations around the country as well as in its association with America’s Got Talent.

Museum of Arts and Sciences
Museum of Arts and Sciences
An exceptional institution for a town of Daytonas size and reputation (as culturally devoid beyond NASCAR), this hard-to-find museum is best known for its Cuba: A History of Art exhibit, with paintings acquired in 1956, when Cuban dictator Fulgencio Batista donated his private collection to the city. Among them is a portrait of Eva ("Evita") Perón, said to be the only existing painting completed while she was alive (it hangs near the lobby, not within the Cuban exhibit). The Dow Gallery displays American decorative arts, while the Bouchelle Study Center for the Decorative Arts contains American and European jewelry, furniture, mirrors, and more. Other rooms include the Schulte Gallery of Chinese Art; Africa: Life and Ritual, with the largest collection of Ashante gold ornaments in the U.S. (these are stunning); and the Center for Florida History, with the skeleton of a 13-foot-tall, 130,000-year-old giant ground sloth. Check out the unique collection of the late Chapman S. Root, a Daytona philanthropist and a founder of the Coca-Cola empire; among the memorabilia are the mold for the original Coke bottle and the Root familys two private railroad cars. The planetarium presents 30-minute shows of what the night sky will look like on the date of your visit.

Pirates Island Golf
Pirates Island Golf
HE FIRST MINIATURE GOLF COURSE in the world was the "Mens Putting club of St. Andrews" in Scotland and was founded in 1867. Europe spawned a mini-golf revolution; which didnt make an apperance in the United States until 1916. Popularity gained momentum in America with the advent of "Tom Thumb Miniature Golf" near Chattanooga, TN in 1927. By the mid 1930s popularity was waning, and bothers Joseph & Robert Taylor from Binghamton, NY set out to revive the game. Their cousin left behind windmills, castles and creative obstacles. Following the Taylor bothers vision, James Bryan & Al Tirrel, of Myrtle Beach, SC took miniature golf to another level extensively landscaping holes around hills, lakes, and waterfalls. Their creation, Junglegolf, was the very first of its kind. During the 1980s Ed Graft, of Traverse City, Michigan coined the term "Adventure Golf." Today, with over thirty-five locations throughout the United States, Junglegolf, Pirates Island & Pirates Cove set a high standard for Adventure Golf. We thank you for visiting and hope you enjoy the experience.
